Minimum equipment example
Left to right..- Drink and lunch pack!
- Laptop with mouse
- JPad base station (box with vertical aerial)
- Wireless JPads (5)
- (missing from photo) microphone
Notice that there is not a sheet of paper in sight! When using JPads you can rely on the awards being accurately recorded so there is no need for a backup recorder. Of course you may choose to have one to guard against a disaster such as a computer crash or simply for training purposes. I have not found it to be necessary if using reliable hardware.
Without the JPads you should have another recorder to independently record the awards, or at least to double-check the awards you enter.
